It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair, we had everything before us, we had nothing before us, we were all going direct to Heaven, we were all going direct the other way.
A Tale of Two Cities, Charles Dickens
Two years of grad school in the bag and Dickens nicely sums up my feelings about the last month or so.
But you know what this means? I’m a Master.
Not just any master, a master of a very tiny part of the Earth. I’m only a Bachelor of space, people. Just to put that in perspective.
I’ve been sort of pretending to be a master for about 3 months now, since I walked at graduation back in May. Robe, hood, participation medal and all.
Even my dad came to witness the magic!
And now, 3 months later, I’ve officially earned it. I think a stiff drink and a trip to the Arctic are in order to celebrate.
