Our Florida trip has been great so far. Here are some highlights from the past week.
Hard to believe it’s already been 3 weeks since my surprise trip to Amelia Island, FL.
It’s Spring Break in these parts! Which means I’m going to work like normal while the South By Southwest interactive/film/music festival takes over Austin around me.
I’ll celebrate my Spring Break once Brian is back to go adventuring with me. In the meantime, enjoy this photo from a few years ago at Sandy Cay in the British Virgin Islands. (Also known as the beach in the Corona commercials.) It’s been rainy here as of late, so this is the new background on my computer for the week.
Here’s to Spring!
Not even 24 hours after our Thanksgiving feast ended, Brian and I were on the road to Point Lobos, California (near Monterey and Carmel). We met some of his friends for breakfast on the way and then we all headed down south for a day of diving in Whalers Cove in Point Lobos State Nature Reserve.
After some flight changes due to the closed runway at SFO, I finally left Hawaii today after getting to spend an extra night in paradise. The trip was fantastic overall. Brian and I stayed with some of Brian’s friends from the Coast Guard Academy who live in a gorgeous house, about 2 blocks from the beach on Kailua Bay. Because we were on the opposite side of the mountains from Honolulu, we were able to avoid a lot of the tourist traps and heavy traffic.
